“On Exactitude in Mapping”

March 10, 2011

A new version of the performance “On Exactitude in Mapping” took place during Pixelache 2011. “On Exactitude in Mapping”  is a non technological, participatory performance in the tradition of “Relational Aesthetics”. The audience did, for a brief moment, became the map, the piece, the story and the landscape.

In this version we use local felted wool treads as a drawing material.

To start the performance Ivar asks everybody to position themselves around the spheres of wool: according to the direction where they came from.

The first line gets drawn: a remembered route from waking up in the morning to the Pixelache location were we are gathered now

Esther hands the wool to the second participant

“On Exactitude in Mapping” was part of MAP ME IF YOU WILL program that took place in the contexts of Pixelache 2011 and was curated by Susanne Jaschko.
