Geotales IJburg afgelast wegens storm

Wegens de storm heeft het NIMk moeten besluiten om gisteravond de Planet M tent af te breken… De Geotales workshop komt daarmee te vervallen!

Heel jammer, maar zodra we elders een nieuwe workshop geven laten wij het hier graag weten.

Straattekeningen maken zonder stoepkrijt, potlood of stift?
Het kan op woensdagmiddag 14 december op het Joris Ivensplein te IJburg. Speciaal voor deze middag komen wij naar Planet M (NIMk, Amsterdam) om samen met kinderen en hun ouders, GPS tekeningen te maken. Meestal gebruik je GPS om te bepalen waar je bent of om de weg te vinden. Wij laten echter zien dat een GPS route ook een tekening kan zijn. Het eindresultaat: de ‘GPS tekening gemaakt op het Joris Ivensplein’ Je tekening wordt geprint en in Planet M geëxposeerd. Uiteraard krijgt iedereen ook een exemplaar mee naar huis! De workshop is gratis toegankelijk van 13:00 tot 18:00 uur en is geschikt voor kinderen vanaf 8 jaar en hun ouders.

Performing StreetView: announcement

As part of “Tracing Mobility: Cartography and Migration in Networked Space” we will do “Performing Streetview” today. The performance will take place in front of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. We will gather indoors at 14:00 sharp.

The intention of the performance is to create a panoramic experience in reality that relates to the virtual space of StreetView in a poetic way. Participants will be guided through a virtual tour in Google Earth Streetview in order to then leave the venue and perform a playful exercise in map making using ropes, stones and sand filled bottles, low-tec techniques, invented and used by us before.

The results of the workshop will be published here.

Spiral Drawing Beach…. the performance was executed in collaboration with three people in the audience. Around them, standing silently and still on the beach we drew a series of Spirals in Sand.

Seascape as Data-collection final presentation

Our stay in Scheveningen will come to an end on Sunday October 9.

Expansiveness and mobility patterns of swarming out will be the focus of this day. Also a piece we did with the students of the KABK art-science department will be on show.
